Ralph Waldo Emerson, the late philosopher and essayist once wrote that if you can "build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door." This can also be said of event marketing - that if you build the right trade show booth, you'll attract and secure hoards of customers that will beat a path to your business!

For years, trade show events have been perceived as the most cost-effective way to generate new business at industry shows. Companies that can put together smart event marketing strategies can realize incremental rewards in increased sales and profits. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned pro, trade shows are all about attraction marketing, and creating the "eye-candy" that will slow down show traffic and draw them in to your booth space. There are many ways to build a mousetrap and many ways to design an exhibit that can work best for your company, but choosing the right one can improve efficiency. In today's busy world of conventions, it's all about creating the proper mouse trap to attract the right prospects to your booth so that new business will flow in!

As an exhibit designer, I spend a great deal of time walking trade show floors and viewing all kinds of exhibits - from the ultra-large pavilion structures to simple, small 10' displays. In viewing tens of thousands of trade show booths over 30 years, one thing is certain: it's hard to get noticed! Trade show environments are like a three-ring circus, full of light, sound and plenty of fury! And for that reason. the goal must be to insure that your exhibit is one that will stand out over the rest and that merits the center ring at Barnum & Bailey!! With the money that your firm must allocate for just the rental of the exhibit space floor alone, your exhibit and brand message can get easily lost within all the clutter! And with all the potential distractions that can adversely affect the concentration level of your audience, it's important to think about what it will take to get your audience into your booth.

Building the Better Mousetrap In snagging qualified leads, it's important that you go in with the best mouse trap! Within your booth space, it's vital that you work to avoid clutter and excess. Less IS best! Also, provide ample lighting so that your booth is bright. Give the show attendees dynamic structures and graphics to get excited about, but don't give them too much or they'll avoid your booth like it's the plague!

In order to organize your booth space requirements, we recommend that you utilize a professional exhibit design firm that can create a fresh, bold exhibit structure that can put you way ahead of the competition and that can also provide ample space for corporate branding, product sampling and meeting areas within your booth. A professional exhibit designer can show you new ideas and leading trends in exhibits. There is nothing worse than showing up at a show and setting up a booth that looks like it was made in 1983! Experienced exhibit designers can also help you to avoid out-dated designs so that your company can be always be perceived as innovative and cutting edge.

Trade show pros can also help you to reduce, or minimize show cost expenses such as electrical needs, drayage charges, and even shipping. It's important to have a professional team on stand by to help you with any and all show needs, and to make sure that your exhibit requirements are always met show after show! Happy Exhibiting!
